Inspired By...#119

Welcome to this week's Inspired By Challenge.  With Canada Day coming up on July 1st I was inspired by red this week.

How will you be inspired?  vintage, checks, gingham, colors, kitchen...

I went with the vintage feel and the colors and patterns to create this fun thank you card.  Now I am all ready for anyone who hosts a Canada Day party!  I used the Americana and Basics collections by Pebbles, along with some Papertrey Ink stamps and dies.  The lace edge on the 'tablecloth' is from an old hankie.  In order to paper piece the jar and strawberries, I used my Xyron 150.  To hold the straw and clip in place I used some of my Xyron Adhesive dots and finally, for the large pieces, a strip from my Xyron Mega Runner before sewing.

I can't wait to see what you create!

Inspired By #116

I have never been a coffee drinker and have always liked tea.  Lately I have really been enjoying some of the fabulous flavors of loose leaf tea so I chose this photo as Inspiration this week:

How will you be inspired? text, tea, graphic, colors, sketch...

I went with a tea them and used my Flea Market collection by Crate Paper along with a PTI stamp and a Silhouette Cut File.  Most of my friends are tea drinkers like me so I know this will come in handy one day.

Can't wait to see what you create!

Another travel themed inspiration as I am counting down the days until I leave for Europe (22 days!).  Can't wait to see the real London buses!

How will you be inspired? cityscape, colors, vehicles, travel...

I pulled out the colors and used the Jenni Bowlin Photo Freedom collection by Echo Park, along with a Unity SMAK kit (You can do anything) along with a PTI die.

I can't wait to see what you create!

Can you believe that this photo is a cake?!  I love it.  I warn you, you just might be seeing a few travel inspired photos in the next month as in just over a month my daughter and I leave for Europe (France and London) for a whirlwind school trip!

How will you be inspired?  travel, colors, banner, cake...

I went with the colors and a travel theme to create my card.  I used the new Now & Then Mildred collection by My Mind's Eye along with a few different Unity Stamps - a couple of SMAK kits and the Eiffel Tower and script stamp are singles that can be purchased.  The Chicken Wire die is from MFT while the butterfly one is from PTI.  I used my Cricut to cut out the tag and Roses (Art Philosophy and Tags, Bags, Boxes and More).  The twine is from Divine Twine.

I have a fun photo inspiration for you.  I am a tea lover so when I saw this I knew I had to use it for some inspiration.

How will you be inspired? tea, hearts, colors, clean and simple, tag, white space....

I of course had to go with a tea theme.  A coworker had her birthday yesterday and she is a fellow tea lover.  Leaf Tea is hard to come by in our town (I know right) - we have to get them from out of town.  So I left this little giftie for her.  Inside the 'tea box' (which is a Silhouette cut) are a couple of sample sizes of leaf tea.  I used the Christmas Cheer collection by Lily Bee along with some PTI dies and stamps and some twine to tie it all off.  She did like her little gift.

Inspired By...#100

I can't believe this is the 100th challenge here on Inspired By!!!  I have had a lot of fun coming up with, creating for and seeing what you all have created for all of the challenges!

I love these upcycled stockings and thought they would make a good inspiration piece.

How will you be inspired? sweater, stocking, texture, buttons, colors...

I was inspired by the colors and the sweater.  I cut a swatch from a thrift store sweater and created this card from the Elle's Studio Noel collection and the December kit.  The stamps and dies are from Papertrey Ink and the twine is from May Arts.

I can't wait to see what you create!

Now since this is the 100th challenge there is a prize up for grabs!
The winner will receive the entire Noel collection including the stamp (no wood veneers as they are sold out)!!!

Inspired By...#81

Welcome to the new Inspired By Challenge.  Here in Canada we have Canada day coming up on July 1 so I chose a Red and White themed inspiration picture.

How will you be inspired?  vintage, kitchen, gingham, colors...

I pulled out the vintage feel, the gingham and I tried to go with mostly red and white (a vintage red and white) with my card.  I used the Lakeside collection by Pebbles along with a Technique Tuesday and a couple of Papertrey Ink stamp sets, all tied off with some May Arts twine.

Can't wait to see what you create!

Inspired By...#56

Well here we are in the year 2013!  I am looking forward to the upcoming year, how about you?

I thought an adorable winter photo would be a good one for this week and this snowman one was perfect.

What can you do with this photo?  snowmen, buttons, texture, knitting, two, the sketch, snow, winter... so many ways

I went with the colors and feel of the photo and inked up some new Papertrey Ink stamps (Knit Bits and Background Basics: Striped Sweater).  I also used my My Favorite Things snowflake and alphabet dies.  Finally tied it off with some May Arts Jute Twine.
Do you recognize anything?  Yes it is very similiar to my last weeks card isn't it?

Just a close up of all the texture on this card.

Since it is the first challenge of the month I have a prize up for grabs this week.

I can't wait to see what you do!

Inspired By...#53

Here we go, the start of a new month and a new year of Inspired By Challenges!  Thank you to those of you who have been playing along, I always love seeing everyone's take on the inspiration.

Being December, I went with another holiday inspiration for you.

Such a clean & simple inspiration photo this week.  I can see using the grid, circles, wreaths, colors, a banner....

I went with the CAS and the wreath.  I used my PTI stamp A Wreath for All Seasons, some May Arts Jute twine and a pearl from Want2Scrap.  The main panel is on foam squares for dimension.  I am really trying to make more 'mailable' cards this year as most of mine tend to cost me a fortune to mail!

Since this is the first challenge of the month there will be a prize up for grabs.  This month some SEI goodies for you.

I am entering this into the 10 minute Craft Challenge (I think my card took about 5 minutes)

Can't wait to see what you do!

Inspired By....#50

We are right in the middle of a big kitchen renovation so this inspiration piece really speaks to me ;)

How can you take this?  the icons? colors? kitchen feel? collage? grid? I can't wait to see.

I decided to go with the colors and the baking theme and started getting ready for my Christmas baking (that is if my kitchen is done) by creating a little treat box to give them in.  I used my Winter Tortellini & Spinach Collection by Jillibean Soup.  The template is by Perfect Presention, the stamps are from Papertrey Ink and I cut the tag with my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2, the rolling pin with the From My Kitchen and finally the Gingerbread Man with my Gingerbread - all of them cricut cartridges.  Finally it is all tied up with some Jute Twine.

I can't wait to see what you create.

Inspired By...#48

Welcome to another inspiration challenge.   I love the warm and cozy feel of this photo.

How will you be inspired?  Neutral colors, texture, picnic, books, coffee...

I used my Country Boutique collection by Fancy Pants along with some May Arts Woven Burlap ribbon and the Warm Happiness Too stamp by Papertrey Ink.  This went together so quickly as I used the packaging of the paper pack - haven't even cut the paper yet.  I also scored the kraft for some more texture.  This is for the Papercraft Star challenge - warm beverage.

I am also playing along in the CAS-ual Fridays challenge - kraft

The sketch is from CAS(e) this Sketch.

Now because it is the first challenge of the month I have a prize up for grabs.

Inspired By #37

Although there has been a lot of Back to School type of projects out in blogland, I am not quite ready for that yet ;)  We don't go back until the first week of September, although I am trying to get into the classroom to start prepping for the year, so I am trying to savor every last minute of summer.

I love the bright happy colors in this photo and it has such a summery feel to it.

So I am wondering how this will inspire you this week?  woodgrain, yellow, lemons, summer drink, colors... can't wait to find out.

I pulled a lot of elements from the photo - embossed woodgrain background, the yellow and blue and some of the gray/brown in the text paper.  I have had this Antique Store pattern paper from Pretty Little Studio for awhile now and decided it was time to dehoard.  The rooster die is from Papertrey Ink and the twine is May Arts.

I can't wait to see what you do this week.

Inspired By #24

Welcome to another Inspired By challenge.  We have been having such warm weather here (finally... it was such a terrible spring so far) I am starting to get the 'bug' for summer.  Although I don't like the heat, I sure do like the fresh fruit and veggies.  Strawberries are one of my favorites and I was really drawn to this inspiration photo.

What can you do with this inspiration? Obviously strawberries but also the colors, the jars - a trend right now, the basket, foliage...

I decided to go with the strawberries.  On the weekend I was out garage saleing and thrift store shopping.  I first picked up the wooden rolling pin and basket at a garage sale for next to nothing!  I then saw the plate at a thrift store and I knew exactly what I was going to do.  I stopped and picked up a strawberry plant on the way home and then went right to work.  I painted the handles of the rolling pin then covered it with some Nikki Sivils Audrey paper.  I got out one of my many (although dwindling) white cloth napkins and used some PTI stamp sets to stamp on it.  I finished it all off with a 'feel better berry soon' card.  Wouldn't this, along with some yummy strawberries, make a nice little gift for someone who is not feeling well.  I know I would love to get it!

Now some close ups.  Here is the napkin, plate and plant.  This is for the Scrapbookin' Adventures challenge - stamp it/

The pearls on the card are from Want2Scrap and the V Striped Twill and Twine are available at Ribbon Carousel.

Now I can't wait to see what you do!

Inspired By #22

Welcome to another Inspired By Challenge.  I can't believe we are in May already and of course that makes me think of May flowers - although we have yet to see much sun or warmth here!

Don't you just love all the pretty colors in this! Of course you could also go with a gardening theme, polka dots, flowers... Can't wait to see what you do.  Now once again, since this is the first of the month there will be a prize so be sure to play along!

Here is what I created for my project, I went with the gardening theme and made a Mother's Day gift.  I wrapped a mason jar with burlap.  The 'tag' is actually a little envelope (PTI die) and inside I will put a Gift Card to my MIL's favorite nursery, along with a bouquet of flowers.  The gloves on this tag are cut with my Freshly Picked Cricut cartridge and the papers are Echo Park This and That. This is also for the Shopping Our Stash challenge - Mother's day

Inspired By #7

I have a fun photo for you today that is open to so many interpretations I hope you play along.

So many options with this photo.  You could go with the wedding theme, the colors, the flowers or do as I did and focus on the sneakers... I really want to get a pair of  converse runners, perhaps in pink.

I altered a little notebook with some Fancy Pants Off To School.  Such a quick and easy project.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and a bit of Twinery Twine.
