Inspired By #33

I am really enjoying Chicago with my hubby and CHA was amazing.  I am so glad that I was finally able to go!  Definitely in the heat of summer and this inspiration photo I have brings up summer feelings for me.  Makes me think of spending days at a summer cottage on the lake... not that I ever have but one can dream ;)

Now what will you do with this photo?  The colors, distressed, stripes, woodgrain, boating, the number...

For my project I was inspired by the woodgrain, the stripes (although my striped paper is mostly covered, LOL) and the colors. I used my Crate Paper Storyteller papers along with some Unity Me Documented SMAK stamps.  I cut the circle strip using my Quickutz  Circle Punches die.

I used this sketch from Stuck?! sketches, although I am not applying for the DT, just liked the sketch.

I can't wait to see what you do!

Inspired By #26

I am really in love with this inspiration for this week's challenge.

I took this photo literally, I was inspired by the colors, the text, the sketch I just love this inspiration!  Again other was to take this: the colors, foliage, text, animal print, squares, layers...

For my card I used my Studio Calico Take Note papers along with the chevron from the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook.  I have also used 4 different Unity sets and the flowers were cut with my Art Philosophy Cricut.  It is hard to tell but I embossed the rustic white cardstock with my PTI woodgrain embossing plate.

Now I can't wait to see what you do!

Inspired By #23

Welcome to another Inspired By challenge.  I have so many ideas with this inspiration picture.

I think there are a few ways to take this photo: the sketch - grid; colors; botanical print; books; birds...

I went with the colors (mostly the green, orange, white and I used gray instead of silver) and decided to do a layout this week.  I used my American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neopolitan papers and chipboard.  This beautiful photo is one of my neice and I took it off of her facebook page.  I have also used some Unity Stamps along with some Twinery Twine.  I used my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the pennants and rose.

By the way, I posted this up on the StopAndScrap Blog as my first post as a DT Member, would love if you stopped by :)

I used this sketch from Twisted Sketches - using some Studio Calico Mr. Huey for a bit of ink distressing.

This is also for the Bird is the Word challenge - smile and the City Crafter challenge - use a photo.

Inspired By #21

I love this inspiration piece this week.  I love spring, I love tulips, especially white ones.

This, once again, is open to so many interpretations.  You can use the flower like I have, the colors, a gradient, the sketch... I can't wait to see what you do.

For my project I took this garage sale wooden plaque:

I upcycled it to a seasonal decor piece.  Like I said I absolutely love white tulips.  I used the La Petite Paperie Basile papers by Carina Gardner, which are available at Jessica Sprague.  The solids (white and kraft) are from the Daisy Jane collection, also by Carina Gardner.  I cut the papers the size I wanted them, adhere them to a base with Glue Dots® and Glue Lines® then I added the stitching.  The yellow paper was stamped with a Unity stamp before adhering and the label (cut with Spellbinders) was misted with some Studio Calico Mr. Huey.  The tulip is from the Bee-Loved set by My Time Made Easy.  The title is cut with my Spring Slice cartridge then crimped with my crimper (haven't used that in awhile!).  Now the best part... I adhered it to the plaque with Removable Glue Dots® so that I can change the picture for the season/holiday!  I love that!  This is also for The Pink Elephant challenge - yellow.

I wrote this blog post while participating on the Glue Dots Design Team.

Now I can't wait to see what you do!

Inspired By #20

It is time for another Inspired By challenge.  I have to say, I am loving doing this challenge blog, it is really getting me out of my box and creating things that I may not otherwise have done.  I hope it is doing the same for you!

With Earth day soon upon us I chose this photo as inspiration.

Maps are ever so popular right now so I can see this inspiration being used for some map projects, or you can use circles, the earth, the colors...

Once again I dug into my My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart collection.  Can you tell I LOVE this collection!  I was inspired by the colors but also thought that the title on the chipboard was perfect as well.  "Where ever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine."  My daughter has the whole world ahead of her and I hope that whatever she does, she does it by being herself.  I used my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the pennants and the butterfly tag.  I love this cartridge!  This is also for the My Mind's Eye Challenge - hexagons, and the Simply Create Too challenge - Earth Day

I used this sketch from Sketchabilities:

Now I can't wait to see what you create!

ETA:  My layout was in the Top 3 at 2Peas!

Inspired By #16

I love this weeks inspiration!  Makes me really want to go on a holiday somewhere!

Now once again, so many ways to take this inspiration: the purse itself, a city, the colors, buckles... can't wait to see what you do

I went with the colors as well as the sketch (most of the photo is off to one side).  I used my new My Mind's Eye collection - Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing, LOVE this collection, can't wait to use it again!  I have also used 5 different sets of Unity stamps! (March 2011 KOTM, Year-o-graphy banners, Life Becoming, Treasure to Me, Neapolitan Bisque Soup)!

I am also playing along with the My Mind's Eye sketch challenge:
