Inspired By #41

I know we are almost into fall, but we are still able to buy fresh local blueberries here so this Pinterest photo really caught my eye.

Ways to interpret this challenge: circle elements, food, the sketch, the colors, a distressed painted background...

I was drawn to the colors and I immediately thought of my Varsity collection by Jenni Bowlin, available at Jessica Sprague.  I made an 'officey' style card along with some matching bulldog clips.  I cut the tie and the letters with my cricut (Wrap it Up and Plantin Schoolbook).  The sentiment stamp is from PTI and the stickers are from Jillibean Soup.

I can't wait to see what you do!

Inspired By #40

Well now I am back at it in the classroom.  I certainly did not get everything done in the summer as I had planned... when you are gone it is pretty hard to keep up around the house - oh well, a lot of fun was had.  Anyhow with the start of school, I am now ready for fall.

How will this inspire you? strips of paper, tweed, texture, fall, the colors...

I went with the theme of fall and tried to pull the colors and texture of the inspiration photo.  I used the Autumn Afternoon Collection by Lori Whitlock, available at Jessica Sprague.  I also used some May Arts Woven Burlap ribbon, which was too 'neat' for me so I stretched it and made it more rough.  I also wrapped and tied some May Arts Jute twine.  The May Arts items are available at the Ribbon Carousel.  I used the sketch from My Sketch World, but I can not seem to find it to link to it.

It is the first challenge of the month so I have a prize up for grabs.  A few fall themed items from SEI and Maya Road.

There will also be a random winner this week as well and that person will win a $10 Gift Certificate from Jessica Sprague, so be sure to join in on the fun!

Inspired By #36

Well we have been very busy this summer and have not done as much camping as we usually do.  Hopefully we will get out a bit this month.  So that is where this week's inspiration came from:

There are so many elements to pull from this photo: large title, trees, clouds, colors, outdoors...

As you can see, I took it literally and went with the camping theme for my CAS card.  I used the Great Outdoors Mini Theme Digital kit by Echo Park, which is available at Jessica Sprague.

There is a prize up for grabs this week, some cute little camping themed items from Imaginisce so be sure to play along!

Inspired By #35

Welcome to another Inspired By Challenge.  I have another birthday inspired photo for you today, but of course that is only one way to take it!

How will this inspire you? colors? birthday? super hero? logo? banner? cityscape? ... so many ways on this one!

I decided to go with a Super Hero card today.  I used one of the new Dani Mogstad collections, Super Pop which is available at Jessica Sprague - to create this hybrid card.  This is also for the CCEE challenge - to include red.

I can't wait to see what you do!

Inspired By #25

Welcome to another Inspired By challenge.  I just thought this was such a fun photo.  I wear an apron when I am baking (although mine aren't this cute), how about you?

I can't wait to see what you do with this inspiration: colors; aprons, kitchen, pocket, ruffles so may ways to take this!

I am doing double duty with my projcet today, and as you can tell I went with the aprons.  I am using my project as my post for The Alley Way Stamps as well.  I wonder if you can tell which sets are some of my favorites?  I have used the Kitchen Gadgets and Kitchen Gadgets 2 for this sweet little apron card.  I knew I had to make one when I saw this one on Pinterest.  As soon as I saw it I knew I was going to use some of the Jenni Bowlin Farmer's Wife collection, which will be available at Jessica Sprague on May 28th.  Isn't this paper perfect for this?!  I also tucked in a couple of the journal cards that I have printed up very small, the benefit of digi!  I also thought that a gift card to a favorite kitchen store would be a perfect addition tucked into the pocket.  This is for the Fab 'N' Funky challenge - new (my papers)

Now be sure to head on over to the TAWS Blog to see what the other DT Members have for you today.

Now I can't wait to see what you do!

Inspired By #21

I love this inspiration piece this week.  I love spring, I love tulips, especially white ones.

This, once again, is open to so many interpretations.  You can use the flower like I have, the colors, a gradient, the sketch... I can't wait to see what you do.

For my project I took this garage sale wooden plaque:

I upcycled it to a seasonal decor piece.  Like I said I absolutely love white tulips.  I used the La Petite Paperie Basile papers by Carina Gardner, which are available at Jessica Sprague.  The solids (white and kraft) are from the Daisy Jane collection, also by Carina Gardner.  I cut the papers the size I wanted them, adhere them to a base with Glue Dots® and Glue Lines® then I added the stitching.  The yellow paper was stamped with a Unity stamp before adhering and the label (cut with Spellbinders) was misted with some Studio Calico Mr. Huey.  The tulip is from the Bee-Loved set by My Time Made Easy.  The title is cut with my Spring Slice cartridge then crimped with my crimper (haven't used that in awhile!).  Now the best part... I adhered it to the plaque with Removable Glue Dots® so that I can change the picture for the season/holiday!  I love that!  This is also for The Pink Elephant challenge - yellow.

I wrote this blog post while participating on the Glue Dots Design Team.

Now I can't wait to see what you do!
